Antlers were commissioned by Bradford Museum Authority to curate an exhibition, based on the title ‘Narrative’ for Ilkley’s Manor House Museum and Art Gallery. This ran concurrently with the Ilkely Literature Festival 2012 and The Big Draw 2012.

Narrative presented the work of six artists who deal with books, literature and paper in very differing ways. In some cases the book is treated as an object in itself, using intricate process and practices to transform the life of antique books. Other artists have been inspired by the story; basing their work on folklore, mythology, dream states and storytelling; creating their own narratives through drawing and mixed media practices. The medium of paper is explored and experimented with. Dream-like qualities and notions of escapism appear in much of the work; a common theme within both art and literature.

Artists: Alexander Korzer-Robinson, Anouk Mercier, Max Naylor, Helen Jones, Rose Sanderson and Tim Lane.
